Samuel Madrid, 97, passed away in Oro Valley on Oct. 11, 2024, after a brief illness.

Samuel is preceded in death by his spouse, Luisita; son, Anthony; grandson, Jimmy; parents, Antonio and Concepcion Madrid; eight brothers, and two sisters.

He is survived by his six children, Jesus (Josefina) Madrid, Tobias (Maria) Madrid, Pablo Leroy (Sylvia) Madrid, Bertha (Anthony) Esquivel, Ida (Alex) Aguirre and Cindy Madrid (Rex Schwartz); 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Terry (Chris) Benavidez, Mary Jean (Jesus) Vaca and Evans Roybal; and brothers, Joe Lovato, Gilbert (Mary) Madrid and Luciano Madrid.

Samuel acquired his GED while serving in the military. He was an Army WWII Veteran and went on to work for and retire from the Magma Copper Company. Samuel was an avid reader and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was buried in the Sante Fe Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. There was a reception held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Oracle Community Center immediately following the 10 a.m. services at Vistoso Funeral Home.
