The Pinal County Board of Supervisors approved a zoning change request for the parcels on Aravaipa Road and Arcadia near the Central Arizona College campus.
Property owner Julian Risnoveanu, represented by Iplan Consulting, made the request to the Pinal County Planning and Zoning commission to approve a minor general plan amendment to change the general plan for that area from major open space to moderate low density. They were also required to have a Planned Area Development overlay agreement and a rezone approved by Pinal County Planning and Zoning Commission prior to the rezone being approved by the Board of Supervisors.
These zoning changes also required the property owners to conduct community meetings with the neighbors in the area along with mailing public notices. The process and meetings began in March of 2024 and all requests made by the property owner and his representatives were approved in accordance to the laws.
The approval will be in effect 30 days after the Board of Supervisors approved the zoning request on Oct. 2, 2024. The approvals will allow the property owner to expand the existing Aravaipa Villa Park by 38.8 acres and allow for manufactured homes, recreational vehicles and park model homes on the site.
