The volleyball courts are heating up in the Copper Corridor as all four high school teams are seeing action.
The Hayden volleyball team hosted the Bagdad Sultans on Friday, Sept. 6. The Lady Lobos put up a fight and were able to claim wins for two of the matches, but unfortunately were unable to come out on top. The game ended with Hayden having 2 wins and Bagdad having 3.
The Lady Lobos took on Patagonia Union on Saturday, Sept. 7. Results from this game were not available at press time.
The Lady Lobos hosted Miami on Sept. 10 and on Sept. 12, the Lady Lobos will travel to take on Superior.
The Lady ‘Cats volleyball team started last week with a game against Globe. The girls were unable to claim the win though and suffered a 0-3 loss.
On Sept. 5, the girls played against San Tan Foothills with the match scores set at 15-25, 25-20, 25-15, 17-25 and 15-12. Ray was able to claim the 3-2 win.
The girls competed in the Small School Invite tournament over the weekend. The results were not available at press time.
Ray hosted Duncan on Sept. 10 and will travel to face Mogollon on Sept. 12.
The San Manuel volleyball team started their season last week. On Sept. 4, the Lady Miners traveled to take on Patagonia Union. The girls’ match scores were: 13-25, 18-25 and 14-25. The girls suffered a tough 0-3 loss.
The following day they traveled to Duncan. The match scores were: 19-25, 10-25 and 10-25, with the Lady Miners suffering another tough 0-3 loss.
The girls faced ASDB on Sept. 10 and will host Fort Thomas on Sept. 12, with a start time of 5 p.m.
The Lady Panthers began their season last week with a trip to compete in the Small School Invite tournament. Results from the tourney were not available at press time.
Superior hosted Fort Thomas on Sept. 10 and will host Hayden on Sept. 12. The JV game starts at 4 p.m. and the varsity at 5.
