It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dolly Louise Chavez, who left us on Aug. 10, 2024, at the age of 63. Born in Tucson, Arizona on June 2, 1961, to Mary Louise Teran and Emilio F. Chavez, Dolly was a beloved nana, mother, sister and friend.
Dolly was known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her presence will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Rico J. Chavez; grandson, Rico J. Chavez Jr.; brothers, Gilbert (Betty) Aguilar, Emilio “Eddie” (Tina) Chavez and James R. Bartmess Jr. (James R. Bartmess III & Edward D. Bartmess); sister, Darlene (Gary) Marcinkowski; and many nieces and nephews. Dolly was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Teran; father, Emilio F. Chavez; maternal grandparents, Eduardo and Vicky Teran; paternal grandparents, Emilio Sr. and Maria de la Luz Fontez Chavez; and nephew, Elijah Jose Steffen.
A celebration of Dolly’s life will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at Superior Harvest Church. Church will open at 9 a.m. and the service will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Superior, Arizona.
Dolly’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
