Founded in 2000, IMPACT of Southern Arizona is a nonprofit organization providing assistance to over 650 residents per month in Northwest Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Catalina and Southeast Pinal County, including the Copper Corridor. To empower Southern Arizonans with the resources required to pursue a stabilized and enhanced quality of life, help feed the hungry, care for seniors, provide clothing to those in need, and offer educational programs for our youth and Literacy/ESL classes for adults.

Impact of Southern Arizona offers a food bank, clothing bank, Senior services, Youth programs, Community education, workshops and much more. Executive Director Barbara McClure offered several updates to how the organization is reaching those in need.

“Our numerous programs, including our incredible food and clothing banks, stabilize families, stretch their household budgets and improve overall well-being by reducing stress.” The organization has partnered with Biosphere 2 through the use of cargo containers used for vertical farming as one example of working with other organizations in the area to assist the residents in need.

“Our exciting new partnership with Pima Community College, other educators, foundations and donors like you, allow us to help countless families move forward! We are confident we have the ability to do this through collaboration with, and support from our many community partners and transitional services; including minor car repairs, professional wardrobe, access to job resources, bus passes, nutritional education and even a phone if needed! With your investment, together we can build capacity for this initiative, helping people now and for years to come! You can be confident that your tax credit gift will create a ripple of change in people’s lives!” McClure said.

Application information is available online or at their main office. Make sure to bring a photo ID, proof of residency and birthdate/IDs for other members of your household when you first go in to enroll. Please call for additional information.
