Fellow Residents of Superior,

I am happy to announce that I am an official write-in candidate for the Superior Town Council in the upcoming Primary Election on August 2, 2022.

Serving on the Town Council is something that I have considered for years. I am a graduate of Mesa High School and have attended Central Arizona College. I am married to Superior native Max Magallanez. We have raised our children here: Christina, Ignacio F. and Matthew.  We moved to Elko, Nevada for 8 years when the mine closed, keeping our home because we knew one day we would return.  I am a property owner of 30 years and resident of Superior for 23 years.  I love music and dancing but most of all spending time with family and friends an especially enjoying community events.

On Jan. 30, 2022, I was able to take the Superior Chamber of Commerce Home Tour and this is when I made the decision to stop working out of Town and seek ways to be part of the future growth of Superior.  It would be an honor and pleasure to be an advocate and represent the people of Superior.  In July 2021, I completed the online survey “Planning for the Future of Superior – Community Feedback.” I encouraged other residents to do so as well.  I believe we all need to give our input.  It is crucial to our future as residents to make sure our voices are heard and that we can help guide the future.

It has been my desire to help make positive changes in Superior and neighboring communities which is evident in my work history and years of community service.  You may know me from the positions I have held or community service roles.  At the Town of Superior, I was the Accounts Receivable Clerk, Interim Deputy Clerk, Finance Clerk and AP & Payroll Clerk.  I was the Community Liaison Coordinator for Resolution Copper and facilitated many community meetings, events and tours where we may have crossed paths.  As a Hospice Healthcare Advisor for Gemini/Centrix Healthcare Resources I worked closely with many families in the Copper Corridor as difficult as it may have been getting families the resources they needed was rewarding.  Serving as the Grant Coordinator for Adelante Juntos/Luz Social Services for prevention and community education was an amazing opportunity to work with our youth teaching them the importance of life skills and substance abuse awareness.  I had the wonderful opportunity to graduate from the Hispanic Leadership Program Pinal in Coolidge, AZ.   I became familiar with the importance of community involvement and service.  Several years later I became the Facilitator for the Hispanic Leadership Institute, Copper Corridor by Valle del Sol. I had the privilege of meeting and getting to know several leaders and future leaders, now my HLI Familia.

I humbly ask for your support in the upcoming election on Aug. 2, 2022, as a write-in candidate for the Superior Town Council.

Respectfully,

/s/ Elizabeth Magallanez
