After a study of the Holocaust, Hayden High School students were able to visit the Holocaust Museum in Tucson on Wednesday, May 18. At the museum, students were given additional informational regarding the Holocaust and other genocides. The culminating event was meeting Holocaust survivor, Sidney “Sevek” Finkel. He authored a book entitled, Sevek and the Holocaust, The Boy Who Refused to Die. Mr. Finkel shared his story focusing on the emotions of his life as he lost his home, his family, and ultimately his humanity by the time he reached the age of 14.
