Hayden High School students honored for accomplishments
On Tuesday, May 17, Hayden High School students were honored for their academic accomplishments.
Science teacher Mr. William Deere recognized Felicity Boltarez, Moraes Cruz, Brandon Garner and Marisol Zamorano in Chemistry; Christopher Casillas and Raelynn Loving in Biology and Joshua Manriquez, Sienna Gonzales in Integrated Science.
Mrs. Yadira Fierro English top students were Amariz Ochoa, Staci Dodson, Jeremy Aguirre, Karissa Acuna, and Sienna Gonzales. Her Most Improved students consisted of Octavio Aragon, Alonzo Gonzales, Jarin Cruz and Sienna Gonzales. Young Author Award was given to Alejandro Lorona.
Mrs. Laura Lopez English top students were Leticia Cruz, Christopher Casillas, Ismael Gallego, Joshua Manriquez and Rilley Sosa. Her Most Improved were Deondre Collier, Rene Ochoa, Makayla Rivera, Kiana Castaneda, Fabian Elvira and Emilio Rivera. Young Author Award recipients were Ariza Castillo, Ismael Gallego, Joshua Manriquez, Moraes Cruz and Raquela Westrope. Mrs. Lopez also presented Citizenship Awards to Julian Gonzales and Keiston Pool.
Mrs. Lydia Martinez presented Christopher Casillas, Ismael Gallego and Mariyah Mariscal Excellence in Health, Keiston Pool, Karissa Acuna, and Victor Sosa-Quintana Excellence in Driver Education, Joshua Manriquez, Dallas Mariscal, and Jonathan Wynne Excellence in Career Preparation and Alexis De Los Reyes received Most Improved in Health/Drivers Ed.
Mrs. Lisa Ochoa Outstanding Students were Joshua Manriquez and Dallas Mariscal in Algebra 1, Alejandro Lorona, Damien Smith, Rilley Sosa, Marisol Zamorano Outstanding Students in Algebra II, Brandon Garner received Excellence in Algebra II. In Geometry Christopher Casillas and Ismael Gallego received Outstanding Award. Seth Slate was recognized in Senior Math Finance Class.
Mrs. Jacqueline Pool recognized Top Students Sienna Gonzalez and Joshua Manriquez in World History, Brandon Garner, Rilley Sosa and Marisol Zamorano in U.S. History, Amariz Ochoa in Civics/Economics, Johnathan Wynn received Most Knowledgeable in World History, The George Washington Award went to Elijah Castaneda, Javier Gonzalez and Jeremy Aguirre. Octavio Aragon was awarded Most Knowledgeable in U.S. History, while Miranda Gomez received Most Knowledgeable in Civics/Economics and Emilio Rivera was Most Improved in U.S. History.
The following students were given awards by Mrs. Pool for various presentations Kiana Castaneda, Lorena Olmedo, Dionna Galindo-Benavidez, Yliana Montijo, Raquela Westrope, Kiley Rutter, Niana Gallego, Emilio Rivera, Javier Gonzalez, Isaiah Aguirre, Isaac Castillo, Roman Sandoval, Jeremy Aguirre, Miranda Gomez and Ariza Castillo.
Ms. Christa Roenfanz recognized Selestina Sosa-Quintana and Makayla Rivera for Excellence in Algebra I, Victor Sosa-Quintana, Raelyunn Loving, and Mariyah Mariscal for Excellence in Geometry, Moraes Cruz, Staci Dodson, and Dionna Galindo-Benavidez Excellence in Algebra II, Aiyana Gonzales, Octavio Aragon, and Aaron Peed for Excellence in Pre-Calculus. Amariz Ochoa earned Above & Beyond A+ Pre-Calculus and Destiny Madrid earned Above & Beyond A+ in Algebra II.
Mrs. Fierro recognized Amariz Ochoa for Top Student in Business Operations and Yancy Chavez-Mezquita Most Improved. For Spanish I, Mrs. Fierro recognized Top Student Joshua Manriquez and Most Improved Elijah Castaneda, Growth in Punctuation Deondre Collier and Pronunciation Mastery to Octavio Aragon.
In Spanish II class, Felicity Boltarez and Dionna Galindo-Benavidez were Top Students, Ismael Gallego was Most Improved. Growth in Punctuation was Dionna Galindo-Benavidez and Pronunciation Mastery was Christopher Casillas.
The following CVIT students passed their state exam: Lorena Olmedo and Dionna Galindo-Benavidez in Graphic Designs II taught by Mr. Michael Smith; in culinary taught by Mrs. Barbara Martinez were Kiley Rutter, Makena Arbizo, and Brianna Slate and in Education Professions were Roman Mariscal, Alejandro Lorona, Emilio Rivera, Nicholette Lagunas and Julian Cruz.
CVIT students who completed their respective classes were Jasmine De Los Reyes, Marisol Zamorano, and Yliana Montijo in MA, Moraes Cruz, Alonzo Gonzales, and Alejandro Lorona in Wildland Firefighting. Also, Javier Gonzalez and Roman Sandoval in Welding 1st year completion.
