Tommie Salcido passed away on Feb. 4, 2022. She was born on Feb. 23, 1953, in Florence, AZ. She married the love of her life Albert Salcido in April of 1974. They had 4 kids. They traveled all over Arizona working construction for 13 years. They moved to San Manuel in 1987. They were married 38 years. She lost Albert to brain cancer in 2013.
Tommie was a beautician at Willie’s Beauty Hut in Globe, AZ in her younger years. She also worked at the Fast Stop Bakery and Gordon’s IGA in San Manuel, AZ. The majority of her life she was a stay-at-home mom to her four children. The last 4 years of her life Tommie struggled with COPD. She was a very kind and loving woman. She had a heart of gold and a beautiful smile.
Tommie was one of 11 children; six of her siblings have passed, Jancie, Charles, Jane, Nancy, Marie, and Fred. Surviving siblings are Armilda, Wilma, Jimmy and Dianne. She had four children, Tammy Maestas, Vickie Madrid, Cathy Salcido and Albert Salcido Jr. She had 13 grandchildren, Gabriel Maestas Jr., Marcus Maestas, Esperanza Madrid, Korinna Madrid, Antonio Madrid, Olivia Madrid, Sergio Salcido, Sasha Salazar, Santiago Salazar Jr., Michael Salcido, Leon Salcido, Albert Salcido III and Leticia Salcido. She had two great granddaughters, Ellie Maestas and Emersyn Maestas.
Tommie loved to cook, bake, and garden. She loved being in the outdoors and camping and fishing with her family.
A celebration of life was held for Tommie on Feb. 19.
