Martha “Nani” Fitts, 67, passed away at Oro Valley Hospital due to COVID-19 on Feb. 1, 2021.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Fitts; daughter, Jenny Fitts-Booth and son-in-law Jeffrey Boot; granddaughter, Cassandra Fitts and Jorge Martinez; grandsons, Gabriel Fitts and Victor Fitts; sister, Ruth Dorame; great-granddaughters, Estrella and Luna (soon to be born); and several nieces and nephews.
Two credits shy of graduating high school, herself, Martha volunteered for San Manuel Elementary School for 10 years, including helping certain teachers with grading papers. She also petitioned for a bus stop for the kids at a community center.
Martha loved being around people, listening to music, cooking, talking to friends, and family dinner and game nights.
Funeral arrangements for Martha Fitts were handled by Vistoso Funeral Home. A mass is planned to be held in Ajo at a time to be announced later, when she is laid to rest with her mother and father at Ajo Cemetery.
