On Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, Robert “Bob” Thomas West, 67, went to be with the Lord in Tucson, AZ.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1952 in Fort Worth, TX to David and Pauline West. In the late 1960s, he moved to Superior, AZ with his family. In high school he worked for Save Money Market as a butcher. He was very proud of this job and talked about it often. He graduated high school in 1972 from Superior High School.
After graduation he went to work for Kennecott (Asarco) where he would eventually become an electrician through an apprenticeship. Bob worked for Asarco until he retired in 2010. Bob loved his coworkers and talked about them often. He enjoyed camping, fishing, target shooting, and collecting knives.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Leon Taylor, daughter Dawn West, grandson Davian Helton and granddaughter Mandy Stickles.
Bob is survived by his wife, Elsie West; and siblings, David (Carol) West, Carol West, and Bill West. He is also survived by his children, Carol Crenshaw, Wendy West, Roberta (Dana) Helton, and Linda (Doug) Sanger. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will be holding a celebration of life on March 13, 2021 from noon to 3 p.m. at the General Kearny Inn. Lunch will be provided.
