Alice Y. ‘Blanca’ Magallanez

Alice Y. “Blanca” Magallanez, 95 of Kearny, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020 in Gilbert, Arizona.

  Blanca was born Sept. 30, 1924 in Bisbee, Arizona to Bartolo and Maria Sopeña Ynclan.  She was a faithful member of the Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Parish and prayed the Rosary and her favorite Novenas faithfully. 

  She married her husband Manuel Magallanez March 6, 1941 and was married for 32 years until he passed in 1972. He is buried at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, Arizona, where she will also be laid to rest.

  She was fondly remembered as a wonderful cook and a Nana who loved and took great interest and pride in her grandkids.

  Blanca was loved and will surely be missed by all who knew her, her family and those who worshiped with her. She is survived by her children as follows: Mary Green, William I (Janice) Magallanez, Martha Travis, Miguel (Alice) Magallanez, Ernesto (Erica) Magallanez, Albert (Cecilia) Magallanez, Robert (Doreena) Magallanez, Belen (Paul) Calderon and Rose Ann (Ralph) Garcia; and Gloria Magallanez her daughter-in-law. Her grandchildren loved her and will miss her. There are 32 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren who survive her.

  Blanca was preceded in death by her beloved parents Bartolo and Maria Sopena Ynclan; her husband, Manuel; her sons, Manuel Magallanez and Javier Magallanez; her grandson, Manuel Magallanez III; and two granddaughters, Cindy Magallanez and Jannare Green.

  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, her services will be private and held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayden, Arizona.  She will be laid to rest with her husband at Mt. View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, Arizona.
