Ramon Amado Romero

Ramon Amado Romero, also known as “Monchi,” went to meet our Lord and the rest of his family in eternal rest on June 11, 2020.

Monchi is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gila M. Romero; beloved parents, Ignacio and Elvira Romero; beloved brother, Manuel A. Romero and beloved sister, Emilia R. Ortiz and daughter, Frances M. Ochoa.

He is survived by his daughters, Elisa R. Bracamonte, Cecilia R. Paredes, Natalie R. Valenzuela, Irma M. Guzman and Adriana M. Huante; and sons, Louis R. Romero and Joe L. Morales; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He doted on and loved his wife, parents, and siblings and continued to show concern and love for all his children until the day he left us.

He worked in the Kennecott mill for 20+ years. He was very knowledgeable in many subjects, including health, history, and genealogy. He was direct and to the point but he also had a wonderful sense of humor, that we all enjoyed in his presence. He had a heart of gold, was generous to a fault, had great intelligence and was a good friend to many. He kept contact with as many friends and family as he could, always checking on them, sharing stories, providing advice, and offering assistance in any way possible. He was a good father to his children, keeping in touch and always making sure we knew he was thinking about us.

He missed living in Hayden and kept up with his many friends by phone and visits to his new home in Tucson.  He vowed that Hayden would always be his only home and that he would always be an Arizonan.

He fought to maintain his activity by exercising on a daily basis, exercising caution in his diet and getting the needed nutrients and rest, but he never passed on his friend Laura’s tamales, and his beloved lemon merengue pie. He was always personable with all he encountered and was looked upon with respect and admiration.

Monchi will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends, and we look forward to seeing him again in heaven. God Bless you, Dad Monchi!

Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Griffith Mortuary, Kearny, AZ. Online Guestbook: www.GriffithMortuary.com.
