Fred  A. Crespin, 94,  passed at his home in Apache Junction on March 3, 2019 after a short illness.

   Fred is survived by his wife of 71 years, Lupe; son, Fred R. Crespin; daughters, Gloria, Lillian, Cindy and Lena; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

  He was born in Littlefield, Texas, but raised and attended school In Scottsbluff, NE. As a 1st Sergeant Army WWII Veteran, he was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, among other medals. 

  Fred lived in Superior for 36 years, working at Magma Copper Mine for 30 years. He and his wife, Lupe, also owned and operated the El Metate Tortilla Factory in Superior.

  Fred liked to fish and cook.

  After retirement, Fred and Lupe moved to Apache Junction, where they resided the past 35 years. They were members of St. George’s Church.

   Services were held at St. George’s Church, 300 E.16th Ave. in Apache Junction, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12. He was interred at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
