Irene Romero

  Irene Romero, 66, passed away peacefully after a rough battle with kidney and congestive heart failure on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Northwest Hospital in Tucson, AZ.

  She was born Aug. 15, 1951 in Tucson, AZ. She graduated in 1969 from San Manuel High School. After graduating she worked at a medical office as a secretary.  She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Raymond Romero on July 12, 1971.  They celebrated 47 years of marriage this year.  Their hobbies were watching her U of A Wildcats play, getting her favorite Pats Chili Dogs and spending time with their kids and grandkids.

  She was a DIEHARD WILDCAT FAN, as anyone can attest to.  Just seeing everyone who was at her services sporting the Wildcat Blue and Red surely made her smile from above.

  She worked at Fresenious Dialysis Center in Mammoth for about 15 years.  She loved all her patients.  She enjoyed her job so much and enjoyed working with the staff and doctors.  She made lots of friends while working there.   She always made the patients feel so welcomed, and always greeted them with a a big beautiful smile and a hug.  That was what everyone noticed first was her smile.

  She was preceded in death by her father, John Ronquillo; mother, Anita Grantland; 2 sisters, Lillian Ronquillo, Carol Padilla and one brother Charles Ronquillo.

  She is survived by her her husband of 47 years Raymond Romero; her fur baby Mia; son, Gabby (Darcy) Romero; daughter, Tiffany (Sam) Aragon, and son, Miguel (Amie) Romero.  She had 12 grandkids and 3 great-grandkids.  She is also survived by her siblings, John Ronquillo Jr.; sister, Sarah (Ray) Barney, Cindy (Albert) Ortiz, Shelly (Michael) Barriga, Candi Ronquillo, Kim (David) Nolan and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

  Pallbearers were: Gabby Romero, Miguel Romero, Dominik Romero,Travis Barney,Michael Sanchez, Angel Sepulveda, Tyler Keil, Damien Romero, Brian Romero and Sam Aragon.

  Irene was a devoted wife, mom, nana, tia and friend.  She will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have her in their lives.

  Services were held on July 20 in Tucson with her viewing at Carillos Mortuary and on July 21 with the Rosary, viewing and Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Mammoth.  Interment was at Valley View Cemetery in Mammoth.
