FishGate Productions hosted a fundraiser gala to raise money for their film project, Coppertown, on Saturday. They featured their short film “Rattle Snake Ranch” to the guests along with live music and dancing to close out the night.
Deb Kay and Rita Betti are the owners of FishGate Productions and they chose to locate their film making business in Superior because they wanted to work in a small community and realized that Superior was the perfect place for them. The two sisters grew up in Apache Junction and after returning to Arizona, determined that Superior was the perfect place for them to grow their business. Both have attended schooling on film making and producing in Los Angeles and have worked in the movie and television industry.
They need to raise $250,000 to produce their feature film “Coppertown”, which is a movie about a copper mining town and the family who owns the mine. Their hopes are to raise the funds through fundraising and investors. A full business plan can be presented to those interested in supporting the film. Their goal is to use as many local vendors from caterers, lodging and craftsmen to support the making of the film.
