Asavet Charities provided the free spaying and neutering for local dogs and cats.
Over 40 cats and dogs were spayed or neutered on Saturday at the free clinic held at the Oracle Fire District station. The free clinic was sponsored by Asavet Charities, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free or low cost spay and neuter and wellness clinics in rural and underserved areas. The Asavet Charities mobile unit is a fully licensed veterinary clinic.
Asavet Charities is based in Tucson and provides services in Arizona and New Mexico. It was founded in 2014 by Karter Neal, DVM who owns Santa Cruz Veterinary Clinic in Tucson. They are able to provide veterinary services by partnering with local and state animal welfare groups and through donations provided by the public.
