A week after a lopsided loss to Mogollon, the Ray football team rebounded with a one-sided victory last Friday night, defeating Phoenix Day School for the Deaf on the road, 72 – 0.
The win improved the Bearcats’ record to 2 – 1.
“We were more prepared mentally for this game,” Ray assistant coach Jimmy Fessenden said about his team’s performance.
Dakota Willis, Romeo Varley and Jaden Pace starred for the Cats in the win. The score allowed a number of Ray’s younger players to get some valuable playing time.
“This game was pretty much a confidence builder,” Fessenden said. “We got to see what our younger players are capable of in a game situation.”
