Oracle Community Learning Garden will be sprouting up soon.

Join garden enthusiasts as we plant our first seeds in the Oracle Community Learning Garden on Saturday, July 28, 6-9 p.m. at the garden site, 1034 E. Mt. Lemmon Rd. We’ll also enjoy lovely Desserts in the Garden!

This premier event features planting the first seeds in our just completed raised beds, a dessert pot luck, a tour of what the future garden will look like, and live music by Oracle’s Mother Cody band. Sign up for your space to grow your own delicious fresh, organic produce. You’ll be amazed at your success and delicious crops with the support of our experienced gardeners!

Volunteers have been working hard to prepare the site for abundant crops. We’ve fenced the area to protect it from javelina, coyotes, rabbits and their pals. Soon you’ll see benches and a raised bed built by Oracle’s master mason, Darrell Klesch. A beautiful entryway built with rammed earth will entice gardeners and visitors to enjoy the beauty of a vibrant garden. And an orchard of fruit trees, individual garden plots and production areas with produce to share with neighbors are all part of the vision.

In the fall we’ll be installing hoop houses to shelter native plants and trees and provide resources to educate children and adults about the importance of conservation of our precious ecosystem.

Join our email list (oraclecommunitygarden@gmail.com) to receive our monthly newsletter, featuring news about the Community Garden and wonderful ideas for gardening in our area as well as invitations to volunteer with us to work towards the vision.   What to bring: A dessert to share, a chair for yourself, cash if you want to buy a commemorative t-shirt, and dancing shoes!
