Summer reading fun at the Superior Library

A Summer tradition kids and their families can count on in Superior is the Superior Public Library Summer Reading program.  Town Librarian, Josie Campos along with her staff and volunteers host the themed program each year.  This year, the theme was “Libraries Rock”.

The weekly sessions at the library include arts and crafts, interactive sessions and of course reading!  During one of their special sessions, local musical Michael Macias brought in several instruments for the students to experience.  The listened to the unique sounds of each instrument and were able to try playing most of them as well.

Amaya and Raiden Sommer also brought in their brass-wind instruments and showed their classmates in Summer Reading how they worked.  The month long program, taught students about how music is made and they learned about many different types of music and musical instruments.
