The Superior Optimist Club hosted the annual Honor Roll Banquet last week. Fifty-four students from grades eighth through 12th earned the honor roll the first three quarters of the year earning an invitation to the banquet. Eight Seniors were awarded lap top computers from the club signifying that they have made the honor roll the first three quarters of each school year since Eighth Grade.
This banquet was first the tradition of the Beta Sigma Phi Chapter years ago. When the sorority closed, the Optimist Club continued their tradition and added the award of a lap top computer vs a trophy as the Senior year award.
The Superior Optimist Club raises money throughout the year to host the event and purchase the laptop computers. Since 2007 the club has awarded over 50 laptops to deserving high school seniors.
Earning Lap Top Computers: Tatianna Babino, Matthew Hernandez, Naomi-Bo Hing, Victoria Juarez, Analysse Jaurez, Ashley Lira, Yuvithzia Romero, and Robert Soto.
Fourth Consecutive year, gold medal winners are: Marisa Estatico, Augustine-Lou Hing, Kaili Howell,Brandon Martinez, Cedric Mendoza, Makayla Martinez, and Maddeleine Price.
Third Consecutive Year, silver medal winners: DeAndrian Bogenschutz, Queenie Hing, Marlee Estatico, and Alondra Munoz-Ochoa.
Second Consecutive Year, bronze medal winners: Matthew Diaz-Gonzalez, McKenna Duarte, Leanna Hughes, Jasmine Lopez, Adam Navarrette, Aubreanna Nunez, Matthew Perez, Andrew Pina, Dolores Ramirez, Angelica Ochoa, Jewel Meza, Korrina Romero, Amber Alonzo, Sivanna Lopez, Ally-Michael Hing.
