Joseph William Sobey

  Joseph William Sobey, 91, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side at his home in Superior, Arizona on March 31, 2018. 

  He was born in Globe, Arizona on Oct. 22, 1926 to E.W. Sobey and Doris Mary Mitchell Sobey.  Joseph spent most of his life in the Superior area.  He served three active duty terms in the United States Navy, all with honorable discharges and multiple awards.  He worked approximately 26 years at Magma and retired as a correctional officer from the Arizona State Prison. 

  Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dorthy Hale.  He is survived by his sister Margaret Lloyd, daughters Joella Sobey and Kathleen Ackers plus multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

  There will be a graveside memorial with Naval Military Honors at Fairview Cemetery in Superior, Arizona on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 9 a.m.  Family and friends will be gathering together for  a potluck immediately following the memorial at Los Hermanos in Superior.
