Manuel H. (Nelo) Trujillo

  Manuel H. (Nelo) Trujillo passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2018.  He was 97 years old. 

  He was born in Sonora on Nov. 17, 1920 to Melecio and Maria Trujillo.  Nelo served his country in the Army during World War II.  When he returned, he married the love of his life, Catherine (Katie) Trujillo.  They were married for 71 years. 

  Nelo worked at Kennecott Copper Corporation for 40 years as a carpenter.  He enjoyed building things.  He built the family home in Sonora and eventually moved that same house to Kearny where they currently reside.   

  Nelo leaves behind his wife, Katie Trujillo; son, Manuel Jr.; daughters, Angie Guzman and Cathy Trujillo; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard (Dicky), sisters and brothers. 

  Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Infant Jesus of Prague Church in Kearny, with viewing at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.    

  Nelo will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the Mass at 7900 East Apache Trail, Mesa, AZ.
