Kenneth Allen Smitch

  Kenneth Allen Smitch passed away Feb. 10, 2018. He was born March 9, 1942, in Clifton, AZ, the son of David Jordon and Rena Laura Smitch. He was raised in Globe, AZ.

  Kenneth joined the Army in 1960 and while in the service, he met his wife, Helen Delores Crowson Smitch. They wed June 1, 1963 and were married for 54 and a half years.

  Kenneth loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed competition shooting and won many awards. His family was very important to him. He shared his knowledge of shooting and hunting with both his sons and taught them how to work on their vehicles. His daughters didn’t escape this tutelage – they also learned how to work on their cars.

  He inspired all his kids to finish high school. School was very important to him and he saw that all his children got the education they needed.

  He leaves behind in loving memory his wife, Helen Smitch; daughters, Tamara Warren and Sondra (Curtis) Lane; sons, Adam Smitch and Colin Smitch; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Jay (Nancy) Smitch; and sisters, Maraget Towse and Luetta (Fred) Danforth.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, David Jordon and Rena Laura Smitch; brothers, Colin Smitch and David Smitch; and sisters, Opal Cunningham, Charlet Miller, Juttie Menges and June Knowlton.

  Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Kearny Church, 305 Croydon Rd. Kenneth will be laid to rest at a later date.
