Last month, Hayden Police Chief Tamatha Villar visited Hayden-WInkelman Schools and spent the day meeting each and every student, talking to them about the importance of setting goals and encouraging them to reach for their dreams. She encouraged the students to write down their goals and to share them with her.
Now, a wall in the lobby of the Hayden Police Department is colorfully decorated with the goals and dreams of the students of our communities. Chief Villar explained the purpose of the wall is twofold. One is to serve as a reminder to the students to keep focused on their goals. The other is to remind her officers of the importance of the work they do every day and that the children of this community are depending on them to help reach these goals.
The wall highlights the talent of all of our students.
“My hope is through meaningful interaction with our youth, we are able to learn more about the kids in our community, what they are struggling with, their goals and their dreams. If we take the time to invest in them, maybe we can have a positive impact in their lives and help keep them on the right track,” said Chief Villar.
Chief Villar encourages the community to come in and read the goals and dreams of our future! She ensures us the future is bright!
