Mammoth Elementary Stem School (MESS) held their Spelling Bee this month. Students of the 4th, 5th and 6th grades competed. The students spelled to word 157 before a champion speller was decided. Ismael Gonzales a 4th grader was the 1st Place finisher. The representatives for the District Spelling Bee from MESS are Ismael Gonzales; 2nd Place David Valencia, 5th grade; 3rd Place Izayah Valenzuela 5th grade; 4th Place Allysandra Alvarez, 6th grade; 5th Place Sandra Castro, 6th grade; and 6th Place Sean McDermott. Thirty students at Mammoth Elementary STEM School got to attend a pizza party at First Avenue Elementary School on Friday, Jan. 12. The party was for those students at both schools that had perfect attendance during the 2nd Quarter. Besides enjoying pizza and Hawaiian Punch, the kids got to watch the movie Rio.
