The Arizona State Board of Education has officially released school and district letter
grades. I am excited to notify the Superior Community that JFK Elementary School has
earned a “B” letter grade. Superior Jr/Sr High School has earned a “C” letter grade. The
Superior Unified School District has earned a “B” letter grade.
I want to take this opportunity to share my appreciation for our administration, teachers,
students, and support staff who work hard to prepare our students and support our
mission. I would also like to share my appreciation for those Governing Board members,
parents and community members who support our schools throughout the year. All of
you have a tremendous impact on our success. COVID-19 has created learning gaps for
all students. Our main priority has been to close those gaps. We have made substantial
gains in the last couple of years. We will continue to work our plan to improve our
assessment scores as well as to provide college and career opportunities for our high
school students.
I would also like to recognize the support from Resolution Copper. Their support has
greatly impacted our success by providing necessary resources to our staff and students.
This includes our instructional programs, intervention programs, CTE programs, and our
extra-curricular programs. We are very fortunate for their continued partnership.
We will continue to work hard because we understand there is more work to be done. We
know we can do better. This can’t happen without the support of our families and the
Superior Community. In the meantime, let’s celebrate this achievement.
Sincerely,
/s/ Stephen Estatico
