The Hayden Town Council voted unanimously to approve the resignation of police officer Melissa Palomino. Due to Palomino’s resignation the council voted to move officer Hector Hernandez from reserve status to full time. Brien Marquez and Kevin Heaslip were appointed as Interim Co-Police Chiefs.
The council discussed the possibility of using an outside source such as Pinal County or Gila County Sheriff’s Office to provide chief of police services. Mayor Vega explained that things are running smoothly with the current situation and communication between the town hall and the police department has improved.
