The second annual Sea Lions Swim Team Benefit Golf Tournament was a success. The tournament was held on Sunday, Sept. 8. 15 teams participated. Although it looked like rain would scare everyone away, it turned out to be a cool day thanks to the cloud cover and there was no rain. The winning team this year was Nathaniel Fields, Scott Fields, Nikola Zovko and Andy Smallhouse. Johnny Smallhouse was the lucky mascot for this team and he did bring some luck. Not only did they take first place but Scott Fields made a hole in one on the number 12 hole of the SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Course.
The Sea Lions are planning another fundraiser. On Saturday, Jan. 11 they are planning a Casino Bus Trip to either Ak Chin or Wild Horse Pass Casino. For $20 you will get a round trip bus ride plus $10 in free play from the casino. The bus will leave at 8 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. Plenty of time to do a little gambling, enjoy a nice lunch, maybe hit the buffet and relax on the way home in a comfortable air conditioned bus. The announcement and more details will be coming soon. Visit their website at sealionsswimteam.com and like them on Facebook.
