Save the date for the Gila County Regional Science Fair

MIAMI – The Gila County Regional Science Fair will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at Bullion Plaza Cultural Center and Museum in Miami, Ariz. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with judging. The fair will be open to the public from noon to 3 p.m.

Last year 21 students from Gila County qualified for and earned medals at the Arizona State Science and Engineering Fair. The students came from Pine, Payson, Young, Globe and Gila County Regional School districts.

First place winners in each division and category from participating schools/districts are eligible to compete in the regional fair. Winners at the regional fair are eligible to compete at the Arizona State Science and Engineering Fair March 31-April 2 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

The Gila County Schools website has more information on these events as well as a student science fair project handbook that can be downloaded by students. The website is: www.gilacountyschools.org.

Please encourage your students to start thinking about possible projects and to get involved!
