The Copper Town Association has announce the schedule of events for Copper Town Days 2013 which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 in San Manuel in the parking lot of the upper arcade (about 420 S. Avenue A). Registration for the Mammoth/San Manuel Community Schools Youth Soccer Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Registration for the Copper Town Days Car Show will begin at 10 a.m. (or pre-register for the car show by calling Fred at 520-385-3028). The official opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. Senator Barbara McGuire will lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance after the presentation of the colors by the San Manuel Knights of Columbus and the national anthem. The senator will then read a proclamation from the governor.
Live entertainment throughout the entire day will be featured on stage beginning at noon. This years entertainment coordinator has scheduled a great variety of entertainers including: The Cardells, a conjunto trio, pop and country bands and more. The days’ events also include kid’s games and activities, 50/50 raffles and delicious food vendors as well as arts and crafts, health and education providers, and unique services and products.
The mission of the Copper Town Association is to promote economic development and social health in the Tri-Community. Copper Town Days is the major fundraiser for the association. The proceeds go to underwrite the cost of the following year’s reunion event and to support the missions of: the Safe Journey House, to prevent domestic violence, Adelante Juntos Coalition, a substance abuse prevention program and the Tri-Community Food Bank in Mammoth, providing emergency food for families in need. Come out and enjoy the day with old friends, make new friends.
