The San Manuel High School varsity cheer squad is set as they will head into another season with 14 year Head Coach Elizabeth Zazueta along with assistants Danielle Lujan- Mann and Genevieve Burnham, preparing them for an exciting and challenging season. The squad lost five starters from last years’ team but will find leadership in Top Returners Senior: Melissa Flores and Sophomore: Sabrina Robles.
Top Newcomers to this year’s squad are Senior: Veronica Hinojos and Freshmen Kalie Renteria, Leticia Vargas, Brianna Madrid, and Leeza Moreno.
“Our strength and weakness is having so many new girls on our team. They bring a lot of new talent but also a lot of training has to go into getting them ready for the varsity level. We have a great team that with the leadership of Sabrina and Melissa should accomplish many of our team goals,” Zazueta said. “Having a new coach also adds to our strengths with her new skills that will help us grow as a unit.”
The Cheer squad will be working hard all season long on and off the field.
