In 2 Samuel 21, we read the story of King David, King Saul and the Gibeonites. It tells us that the sins of our ancestors, if not removed or repented of, will endanger our well being.
By taking care of the situation, a three year long famine was ended. All sin, according to the Bible, comes with a curse. But, God gave us His plan of salvation, which includes His forgiveness of our sins. It is not necessary for us to live under any curse or ancestral problem.
When we have wronged God, we must sincerely seek and ask for His forgiveness. It is easy to simply ask Him to forgive our wrongdoing. By doing so, we will not experience the stress and frustration that sin produces in our lives.
Also, when we ask the Lord to forgive our sins, our children and grandchildren will not inherit the tendency toward those sins in their lives. To live in freedom is a blessing. Make life easier on yourself and your family – ask God to forgive your sins. He will do just that, allowing your conscience to be free from guilt or shame. Living without worries or regrets is true freedom. Do it today and live free.
