I’m sure that you have noticed that, in life, things happen that we have little or no control over. Our concept of what should occur doesn’t always happen. Sometimes, events just go terribly wrong.
Psalm 57:1 speaks this to us: “Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in You my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.”
There is always a reason for those times. Verse two talks about “God, who fulfills His purpose for me.” Often, God desires us to learn for the sake of experience, in order to help others who will soon stumble down a similar path.
Learning to lean on Jesus and how to completely trust in Him to bring us into victory is not always an easily learned lesson. Yet, it sharpens our skills and increases our abilities to help others. We become more aware of the frustrations and difficulties in the lives of those around us.
Having ‘been there and done that,’ we become the mentor who brings help and healing from our Lord. Recognize and use the gifts God has given you. Reach out and touch someone with a ‘God blessed’ helping hand. Be the answer to their prayers.
