Due to the economy, the Lions Club’s 51st annual Quail Hunter’s Breakfast has been canceled.
Donald E. Wright cited several causes for the cancellation, including the current Lions Club members ages and disabilities.
“We don’t have the funds to get it funded,” said Lion Wright. “We want to thank all of the community that has support us in the past and hope the future will be kind to us,” he continued.
The Quail Hunter’s Breakfast has been a long-standing tradition, the proceeds from which has helped fund activities throughout the community. The Lions Club has relied on the help of new members and volunteers to help orchestrate and carry out the enormous work involved in holding the breakfast, but with the economy being what it is, newer, younger members are not signing up and volunteers are unable to give the time they had in earlier years.
