The Lady Miners varsity volleyball has started off the season with a record of one win and one loss, as San Manuel picked up a win over San Miguel and lost to Ray.
On Sept. 3, the Lady Miners traveled over to Tucson to take on San Miguel and returned home with a 3 – 1 win, San Manuel won the first set 25 – 15, won the second set 25 – 20, lost the third set 23 – 25, and won the fourth set 27 – 25.
Angelica Zungia had 14 kills, eight blocks, and two digs; Analisa Robles seven kills, and one block; Kadi Monfred had four kills, and six digs; Felicia Gomez had three kills, two digs, and nine assists; Ana Zuniga had one kill, and one assist; Brittany Allison had six digs; Mireya Tamayo had six digs; Ashley Vargas had two digs, and 10 assists; and Lyana Waddell had four digs.
The Lady Miners hosted the Ray Bearcats on Sept. 5 with San Manuel taking the loss at home 3 – 0, in the first set Ray won 25 – 17, in the second set Ray won again 26 – 24, and in the third set Ray won the final set 25 12.
Angelica Zungia had five kills, and five blocks; Felicia Gomez had five kills, five digs, and six assists; Analisa Robles had three kills, and one block; Brittany Allison had one kill, and one dig; Kadi Monfred had one kill, one block, three digs and one assist; Ashley Vargas had two digs, and four assists; and Lyana Waddell had four digs.
The Lady Miners will travel to San Carlos on Thursday with the start time of JV playing at 5 p.m. and Varsity taking the court at 6 p.m.
