Things seem to keep moving along as planned at the Town Hall in Kearny. At a recent town council meeting, the council approved a request from the American Youth Soccer Organization for the use of the ball fields for soccer practice and games this fall.

They also approved a request from the Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce for their requested road closures for the upcoming Oktoberfest celebration Oct. 5-6.

The council also approved a base hospital contract with Oro Valley hospital for ambulance service. Prior to this contract, the Kearny ambulance worked with Northwest Hospital as their base hospital.

The council adjourned into executive session for a discussion and or consideration of an employment contract of a public officer-town manager, including legal advice, application and interview process, possible contract negotiation and legal advice on the water issues.
