The parade line up will be at 4:00 – 4:30 pm, at the upper arcade area. Please look for the signs in front of the merchants in the uptown center. The San Manuel Fire Department will lead the parade uptown and to the high school parking lot. The Halloween judging will be performed by the San Manuel High School Student Council and each division will receive a best costume prize.
After the announcement of best costume we encourage everyone to join in for Trunk or Treat in the San Manuel High School Parking lot. Trunk or Treat is when people gather and park their cars in parking lot, open their trunks or the back of their vehicles and decorate them. Then they pass out candy from their trunks. This event provides a safe family environment for trick or treaters. The best decorated vehicle will receive a trophy. Food vendors please contact Larry Ramirez at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or Lois Abbott at firstname.lastname@example.org or via telephone at (520) 385-2337 ext 113. Vendor spaces and people handing out candy are free. The participation of everyone is needed to help make this a successful event for our children.
When it comes to decorating your vehicle there are obvious choices, like decorating for Halloween using pumpkins, spider webbing, spiders, brooms, bats, cauldrons and other scary stuff! Think of it like dressing yourself in a costume. A few ideas might be to dress like a clown and fill your trunk with balloons; a zookeeper with lots of stuffed animals in the trunk; a beach theme with hanging towels, a boogie board with beach chairs and an umbrella; a NASCAR theme, you could display all your souvenirs; a sports theme displaying your favorite sports; western theme; camping theme; pirate theme; favorite movie theme are just a few ideas to get you thinking.
Our thanks to Tom Miller for volunteering to be our DJ, Janice Rapp from San Manuel Historical Society, San Manuel Rotary and San Manuel Lions Club for donations. Various clubs and organizations from the Junior High and High School will participate but the people that volunteer from our community will help make this an eventful time.
