Superior Head Start Preschool celebrated RIF Day (Reading Is Fundamental) by inviting Eddie Eagle of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office to their classroom. Eddie Eagle talked with students about gun safety, anti-bullying, stranger awareness and joined them during physical activity time by dancing with them.

RIF provides books and literacy resources to more than four million children nationwide each year. From schools to community centers, homeless shelters to hospitals, RIF’s resources ignite a child’s hunger for knowledge and inspire imaginations.

Research confirms a passion for learning leads to improved academic performance. Since 1966, RIF has placed 350 million books into the hands of children.

Each child enrolled in Superior Head Start received a book to keep. RIF books for this distribution was made possible by a grant from Macy’s.
