A late night accident this weekend has claimed the life of a San Manuel man.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety Office of Public Information, at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, a 2003 Mitsubishi SUV that was northbound on Highway 77 near Oracle Junction, for an unknown reason, ran off the road onto the northbound shoulder, overcorrected to the left, crossed both north and southbound lanes of traffic and collided with a southbound Ford SUV

The driver of the Mitsubishi was identified as Daniel L. Brenton, 28, San Manuel. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was identified as Joseph K. Stewart, 38, of Globe. He was uninjured.
