For the past 18 months, Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center (CVRMC) has been working to convert hand-written charting processes into an electronic healthcare information system, MediTech 6.0. “For the core team of the MediTech Project, our physicians, and staff, this has become more than a software build; it has become a total transformation of how our patient care will be delivered,” stated Neal Jensen, CVRMC CEO.
The “Go LIVE” date for MediTech 6.0 is scheduled for October 1, with the entire staff of CVRMC being fully trained by the end of September. “MediTech 6.0 will improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care through the standardization of clinical processes, terminology, and will use evidence-based order sets which will give physicians and nursing staff more time at the bedside with patients and their families,” stated RoseAnn Garcia, CVRMC Chief Nursing Officer.
The public is invited to an educational presentation, “A Day in the Life of a CVRMC MediTech Patient,” on Wednesday, September 18, at 5:15 pm, in the Medical Office Building conference room. The presentation will follow a patient through the patient experience using the new software and will demonstrate the improved quality of care a patient will receive at CVRMC. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. “Our Mission is Your Health.”
