A replacement project for the Aravaipa Creek Bridge has been planned by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The bridge located on State Route 77 is approximately 10 miles north of Mammoth between mile marker 123 and 124 in Pinal County. The project will also include minor roadway improvements between the mile markers.
The Aravaipa Creek Bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin this fall. ADOT plans include widening the bridge and replacing the piers, bridge deck and abutments. Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete and will be done in two phases. This will allow traffic to be maintained during construction.
During the project construction, temporary traffic signals will be installed at both ends of the bridge and will be adjusted periodically to allow efficient movement of traffic across the bridge. There will be one travel lane open at all times with traffic controls in place to allow alternating north and southbound traffic. Drivers should expect delays of five to ten minutes but no more than 15 minutes throughout the construction.
