After some confusion about what type of grant the San Manuel Airport received, it was confirmed that the airport will receive up to $200,000 to develop an airport master plan. The grant has been awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Jim Petty the Airport Economic Development Directory for Pinal County explained that a coding error in the FAA system announced that the airport received a grant for a wildlife survey but confirmed that the funds will go towards a master plan.
“The master planning process will involve community input and participation,” explained Petty. Once the planning process begins there will several opportunities for the public to participate in the planning process.
