On October 16, 2013 beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt Anita “Annie” Gonzalez-Castro was peacefully delivered into the hands of God.
Born in 1914 to Arturo Diaz-Gonzalez and Juanita Federico, she lived in Ray, Arizona, where she attended school. Anita graduated from old Ray High School in 1934, which was very unusual for those times. In 1937 she married Salvador Castro and together they had three children, Jesus (Jr), Robert (Bobby), and William (Billy).
Anita resided in Kearny, Arizona where she raised her children and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would visit and enjoy hearing stories of her life and enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee on the front porch.
After 99 illustrious years, Anita was preceded in her passing by husband, Salvador Castro; eldest son, Jesus (Jr.) Castro; siblings, Ester Berumen, Angie Flores, Freddie Gonzalez and Arthur Gonzalez; and daughter-in-law, Margarita Castro. She was survived by sons Bobby (Virginia) and Billy (Debbie) Castro, Mary Castro, and their loving families; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
